The Klamath Resource Information System (KRIS) is a free, interactive computer program that allows easy access to data tables, charts, photographs and bibliographic materials related to a watershed or specific location. KRIS also operates seamlessly with ArcView to show information spatially. It was originally compiled to supply information to the public and management agencies to help them evaluate the Pacific Lumber Company Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP). It consists of all the available fisheries and water quality data available in the public domain, and an electronic map system.

KRIS is an expandable, complex, but easy-to-use database. KRIS can help convey historical information about fishery populations as well as current status and trends in water quality. KRIS assimilates the most current scientific information for land use managers, regulators, and the interested public so that they can fully consider this information in decision making.

Pat Higgin's (co-author) dynamic presentation is probably the most engaging one will ever see on a computer program as it graphically displays with stunning effect not only data but revealing aerial photographs of Pacific Lumber lands on which the data was collected. KRIS COHO is the state of the art information resource for all the important data necessary for effective watershed management and may have application in the 90 tributary watersheds of the Russian River that are steelhead rainbow trout habitat.

Suggested donation at the door is $3-5 for New College. Hosted by Russian River Residents Against Unsafe Logging, Institute for Inland Fisheries, Trout Unlimited
